“I’m using ‘intention’ all day long and nothing’s happening!”

If this is you it could be that you watched The Secret or something along those lines and someone told you that if you just wished properly, those wishes would come true.

Maybe that’s not quite working out for you…

I was raised with the teaching that you set realistic goals, you write them down, you share them. Repeat.

In essence, putting practicality to wishes.

In this world, generally speaking, there is no reaction that can occur without action. In other words, unless you get up and DO something, wishing won’t make it true.

You have to put energy in to get energy out.

The good news is that there is unlimited energy as far as the brief spark of a human life is concerned.

Another word for all this is work.

Some people consider work to be a four-letter word. I see it as the secret to creation. Creation of anything.

Most people just stop at intention and so that’s pretty much where the story ends. Thought is only the beginning.

You have a dream and you roll up your sleeves and joyfully work toward it.

You keep the important things in balance. Emotional, Physical, Intellectual and Spiritual.

A lot of people think that to be successful they have to become another person, they have to adopt the traits of the paradigm in which they function. You see this in politics where women feel forced to play the “man’s game” when really, just being a strong woman with ideas should be enough.

We have allowed a system where gentleness, empathy, encouragement, feeling – these are seen as weaknesses when in reality they are some of our greatest strengths and advantages.

So, work and being authentic (true to yourself) are key to achieving your goals.

Now, some people think being true to yourself translates to being selfish. You see it all the time. But really what we’re talking about is being true to your HIGHER self, your better self. The self that knows how to give in balance with receiving.

And that leads us to the third stumbling block I’ll talk about today:

“I want all these things for my life, I want THIS as my career, or THIS kind of life and no matter what I do it’s not happening for me!”

Maybe what you think you want isn’t what you really want, it’s just social or family programming. Your deeper self doesn’t want these things at all and so you’ll never really get them without shutting down important parts of your being.

Or…maybe those things are what will fulfill you, but your goals are all external, all about things and stuff rather than the journey and experience.

For example, maybe you need a new vehicle. The external goal would be:

“I want a new car because it’s nice, people will be impressed, I deserve it, no one ever gives me anything, and it will boost my self esteem.”

You can get that new car but what will the cost be? What will the impact be on your life? The pursuit is one where all the reasons are outside of the kind of person you want to be and will only re-enforce all those negative feelings. So…once you get the thing, not only will the pleasure soon fade, but the emptiness will remain.

If your goal is mainly internal:

“I want a new car because I’d like reduce the pollution I cause, I’d like to support a better business model, I want to extend my ability to travel and help others, I want to provide safety and assistance to my family and friends. I want to be more responsible with money and life choices…”

Then the pursuit of the goal re-enforces these positive thought patterns, it aligns you more closely with the person you want to be, your higher self. In fact, as you pursue this goal it may change. You may decide you don’t need a new car after all and a new, better idea will come to you. Why? Because you aren’t focused on the THING but on the REASON for the thing.

And so it is with everything in life. If your reasons are in harmony with a better purpose, then your ability to achieve them increases, as does the positive impact it will have on your life and spirit.

Now, if you don’t have any goals, then you’re simply existing instead of really living life.

One of my goals is to grow my message in order to help fundamentally change the way we teach our youth and prepare them for life. That starts with all of us learning the best ways to live we can and then share them. Our youth are taught a curriculum that hardly prepares them for the realities of the world we face today. I don’t blame anyone. I believe the majority of teachers are some of the greatest heroes of our times.

There is so much more to learn and teach if we are going to have an intentional, positive impact on the Seventh Generation.

So what does all this have to do with you?

And all you have to do is live the most incredible, passionate, meaningful, brave, loving life imaginable.

Yup, that’s all.

But really, what are you waiting for? An invitation?

Here it is:

I invite you to start living your best life today.

You don’t need permission, just go ahead.

Start with action. Make a goal, write it down, say it out loud, and do it. A small goal. Then another, then another.

One day you will have the habits, knowledge, strength and faith to go for that impossible goal and make it happen.

Start small. Build your astounding life brick by brick, goal by goal.

Begin with a grand vision, it doesn’t matter what it is. It will probably change as your abilities grow and change.

I can’t stress it enough. Start with action. Immediately. Stop reading this and make that goal and take immediate action to get it moving. What do you have to change? Who do you have to call? What do you have to do RIGHT NOW for it to begin?

Do that!

And always be learning. Always be failing. Always be rising. And teach what you’ve learned to others along the way.

That’s the real secret right there. You really can “intend” anything into being. You just have to roll up your sleeves and make it happen. We are in these physical bodies for a reason. To take physical action.

Take your personal, good action today.

Begin now.

hiy hiy.
